  • 👟Steps to Setting up Your GOTR Team👟

    • First check to see if there is an existing team at your desired location in your community for either the Fall or Spring season.
    • Designate and connect us with a Site Liaison to serve as the program location contact (This person will help champion the program!)
    • Gain support from location administrators, such as a school principal or director of the community center. We provide informational material to help support this as needed.
    • The location must provide a safe, dedicated outdoor and indoor space, with restrooms, where the program can be facilitated to the team at the dates/times determined for the season.
    • Recruit at least 2 Coaches (We recommend 3!)  (We will train the Coaches! Online and In-Person Training required). Recruitment material provided as needed (flyers, social content, etc).
         Golden Coach Ratio= 2 Coaches : 15 Girls (8 minimum)
More Coaches means more girls on the team! We can scale up!
Coaches can register here: Fall 2026 Coach Registration
    • Identify a consistent practice schedule 2 days/week for 90 minutes each day (same days/times each week). The season is 10 Weeks long!
    • Complete a Site Registration:Fall 2026 Site Registration
    • Recruit Participants (We provide recruitment material! We also have a sliding scale to help with registration fees!)
    • Have an AMAZING SEASON!

Site Liaison Responsibilities

  • Acts as the main contact at the site for Girls on the Run families/participants and Girls on the Run council staff before and throughout the program.
  • Aids in team member recruitment efforts by distributing marketing materials (provided by Girls on the Run) and spreading the word about Girls on the Run throughout the site community and via email using provided digital templates. This helps ensure there is a full team for each season at this location.
  • Offers support to families who need assistance with registration.
  • Helps identify two to four coaches from the community for each team*.

*If you cannot secure coaches, we will work with you to identify coaches from our volunteer pool.
